Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on court had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional victory, took control to create a third set.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, he clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
